Hi all, I've recently been in contact with RMPPS in order to get a quote for early access to Age60 pension ( I'm 57, wanting to access at 58) I was told that Age60 and Age65 are bundled together now so I cant access one without taking the other.
Is this correct and if so. why? They are separate pension plans after all. Also was told it would take at least 4 weeks to prepare an illustration and then ( after sending the forms back to start the process) another 5-6 MONTHS to put into place!!
How is this so long? Any thoughts or experiences? Thanks

Age60 and Age65 now combined?
I took my NRA60 at 55 9 months ago and and it was my choice to take one or both, one of my colleagues finally got his quote 3 weeks ago for taking his NRA60 at 57 6 weeks after asking for it and no mention of NRA60 to be taken with NRA65.jawe wrote:Hi all, I've recently been in contact with RMPPS in order to get a quote for early access to Age60 pension ( I'm 57, wanting to access at 58) I was told that Age60 and Age65 are bundled together now so I cant access one without taking the other.

With regards to timescales, I can say that 4 people I know took their NRA60 earlier and in each case it was paid 4 months after their relevant birthday’s.

The timescales are awful especially the part involving Capita.
You can take just your NRA 60 and leave your other pensions

In the current situation priority is being given to age activated pension quotes. Applications for early payment like yours go to the back of the queue but 6 months seems a bit excessive.

I recomend asking for it 5 months in advance of your date you want the money, even if it is an NRA date.Steve_claret wrote:In the current situation priority is being given to age activated pension quotes. I am taking mine two months early and asked 5 months in advance and every thing so far has gone smoothly.
13 weeks is the offical time line.
Lump sums in place, now awating first pension payments on the 30th of this month.
I personally think this person is wrong about having to take both pensions. What the pension person probally means is the NRA 60 and 65 elements of the RMSPS statement are combined, not the need to take them.

The NRA60 can be taken separately from your NRA65. What the bundled together implies is the NRA60 RMPP & the NRA60 RMSPS HAVE to be taken together.jawe wrote:Hi all, I've recently been in contact with RMPPS in order to get a quote for early access to Age60 pension ( I'm 57, wanting to access at 58) I was told that Age60 and Age65 are bundled together now so I cant access one without taking the other.
