Allowed to work again or not?

If you left Royal mail a long time ago, and you take your deferred pension at 55, can you be employed by RM again? Going by the rule that you have to retire from RM if you take it, does this rule therefore apply in these circumstances? anyone know?...thanks.

We have staff that have taken their pensions either at NRA or earlier and returned after a few years but employed as casuals via Angard and not directly by Royal Mail.

There’s is no retirement age anymore. In theory you can work till you are 90 if you are fit and able despite what pensions you in receipt of.

There is currently no rule that says you have to retire from RM if you take your RM pension! It may have been the case in the past, if so, that would have been super-seeded by the pensions act of 2015.

I've had many a discussion on these forums about the merits or not as the case may be, of taking pension benefits early and continuing to work for RM. So I see no reason why you couldn't rejoin the company if you've already taken your deferred pension.
Although if you did rejoin RM, you would currently be enrolled into the RM Defined Contribution Plan, rather then the RMPP,

Ah...OK, thanks...That's cleared that one up...I have other pensions too, so not bothered about taking that one early....probably a glutton for punishment by thinking of returning, but hey...they weren't a bad employer, but the good old days have gone I guess.

If memory serves me well, I think if you are a section C member, you lose the pension supplement if you are still receiving it. Not sure where I read this, but think I'm right.
