Moved post to 'pension forum'.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

That's going to vary from person to person, but here's a few questions you need to ask yourself, in no particular order:

When do you want to take your AVC's?
How much are they worth?
Are you under or over the 25% of NRA60 pot value?
How will continuing to pay AVC's affect your NRA65 pot value?
Are you still working for RM and going to continue to pay AVC's?
Will income tax be an issue and can you avoid it by taking your AVC's with either NRA60 or NRA65?
Have you factored in your DBCBS pot into your NRA65 figures?

If you take all your AVC's with your NRA60 benefits you can still continue to pay into Bonusplan and / or Flexiplan and build up a new pot to take with your NRA65, as long as you're still an active member of the RMPP and contributing to the DBCBS.

I assume you actually mean 65, as there's no benefit from deferring past NRA.
