GMP at 65?

Post by FAB »

How does GMP fit in the scheme of things? Currently getting my NRA60 pension and I get the full RPI increase each year on the whole amount. On the increase letter it mentions that if your pension has a GMP element you will receive only part of the increase. And I have read elsewhere that the pension from 1988 to 1997 would use CPI capped at 3 %. And the rest would be RPI capped at 5%. And they mention 60 for women and 65 for men. So I assume that until I reach 65 (currently 62) I get the full increase but that changes at 65?
Does that mean your pension would not go up as much from 65. I have RM pension from 1988 to 1997 and beyond. Or do you get an extra amount of pension? My guess your pension increase goes down!
