So I took my NRA 6o pension and 90% of my lump sum in October. As anybody who has taken their pension is aware this is standard process.
I was advised that I would receive my remaining lump sum within the next 3 months.
I sent an email on 15th December to ask if there was a problem and did not receive a reply. I sent another one on 21st December and had the following reply..
"As you are continuing to make contributions towards the AVC fund, a partial disinvested based upon the values at 10/09/19 (The date the values were taken for the provisional value) has taken place.
We are now in the process of revising the benefits and will contact you as soon as possible with regards to any additional payments. A quick glance at what I can see suggests that the AVC was restricted to the HMRC maximum and therefore we might not be able to use anymore of the AVC at revision, if this is the case we will need to re-invest some of the funds received.
Since the 11/11/2019 the administration of the Royal Mail Statutory Pension Scheme (RMSPS) benefits has moved over to Capita.
The Royal Mail Pension Plan (RMPP) administered by ourselves requires Capita to provide us with the revalued benefits to allow us to calculate the RMPP NRA 60 benefits (This is basically the difference in the benefits based on your final salary compared to the revalued benefits from Capita, this is to make sure that you are no worse off as a result of the changes made to the scheme in 2012).
The information has been requested from Capita but to date has not been received. We are in contact with Capita on a daily basis and your case has been raised with their managers as outstanding."
So today I phoned Royal Mail pensions again to firstly be told there was no lump sum due. When I explained they were wrong they went away again and said it was with CAPITA and they were meeting with them next week and would look at my case.
So I phoned Capita only to be told they were not aware of 10% of lump sums being held back and due to be paid at a later date. Then after a difficult exchange she went away and came back say that they had received notification from RMPP at the end of December and the revision of my lump sum was being looked at.
I then pressed her for a timescale and she said she couldn't give me one. I then explained how ridiculous this was and she simply explained again she couldn't do anything and there was definitely no timescale.
Any suggestions as of what to do next ???
Many thanks
