Just trying to understand what this means in the agreement.
Currently you get 32 week pay plus 12 weeks Pay in lieu when you are ill health retired.
This 50% of basic pay less employment support allowance for 3 years in the new agreement, is this related to a normal IHR or something else pension related.
What a complex document.
Thanks

Ill Health Benefits
The way I understand it is that the 50% of basic pay, etc is an alternative to ‘IHR with immediate payment of pension’.
Equally Early Voluntary Retirement(EVR) and the enhanced pension it gives, will no longer be an option.
As both those benefits are part of being in the RMPP and that is closing to future accrual, then they will stop.
Therefore IHR with lump sum will just be 34 weeks pay plus PILON for those leaving on health grounds.
And Voluntary Redundancy(VR) upto a maximum of 104 weeks will be the only option for those leaving on that basis.
This thread seems to back that up: https://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communi ... 1&start=75" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
