It was a lot better read than previous examples and figures have improved.Obviously not as good as original pension I was expecting but I could live with this proposal if it makes the company more viable and sustainable in the long term.

I don't believe anything they (royal mail ) say. If they say it's raining, i'd go outside and see if my hair get's wet.

Maybe you could volunteer for a large pay cut, to make the company more viable and sustainable.

Look at page 7 "Your actual DC pension amounts will depend on the investment returns actually achieved on contributions held in your personal fund before retirement. The investment returns are not guaranteed and may differ significantly from those assumed."

Well if you are happy to lose thousands of pounds per year so RM can be more "sustainable" in the long term go for it.cloherty1976 wrote:It was a lot better read than previous examples and figures have improved.Obviously not as good as original pension I was expecting but I could live with this proposal if it makes the company more viable and sustainable in the long term.
I guess if you were Robin Hood you would steal from the poor and give to the rich (Moya and her cronies need all the money than can get)

Not happy to lose thousands of pounds but we will have to take a hit whatever. Pensions are just not paying what they used to. Not nice but a fact of lifedandydon wrote:Well if you are happy to lose thousands of pounds per year so RM can be more "sustainable" in the long term go for it.cloherty1976 wrote:It was a lot better read than previous examples and figures have improved.Obviously not as good as original pension I was expecting but I could live with this proposal if it makes the company more viable and sustainable in the long term.

Fact of life seems to be no matter what we get shafted over pensions, in the 1990s when our pension fund was making good returns the fat was skimmed and a pension holiday was taken by RM. Now returns are not so good still shafted. Another fact is that I & tens of thousands of CWU members will not accept being walked over, some people might want to be doormats ,I hope they get what they deserve.postmanpleb wrote:cloherty1976 wrote:Nothing is guaranteed in lifepostmanpleb wrote:Look at page 7 "Your actual DC pension amounts will depend on the investment returns actually achieved on contributions held in your personal fund before retirement. The investment returns are not guaranteed and may differ significantly from those assumed."

They said they were changing because it was unsustainable and they have no money and now they've just happened to find some, in 3 weeks?
Why are they talking to me about it? I pay the Union to act as my representative and this is an ongoing negotiation so my opinion is pretty much irrelevant at this moment in time.
Why bother showing me something they have no way or agreeing with me. If it was an awesome deal and I wanted it there is no attempt to organise any kind of response from people, it is just whimsical fantasy to attack the strength of the Union with.
To put it mildly, I am annoyed by their incompetent and shallow attempt to undermine my position in the company. They aim to achieve nothing but erode any say I have.

I'm only going to loose £6000 now instead of £7000. That's made me feel so much better.
If this was supposed to be the game changer that made us hang on and then vote no, what must senior management really think of us?
