l left Royal Mail in 2013,with 23 years in. What confuses me is that from what l,ve read after 2018 everybody including those like me,who have left the business are going to be a lot worse of when we take our pensions. l,m 58 in March, did,nt intend to take my pension until l was 60 but it looks like l,ll be forced to take it 2 years early , so l am not worse off later. l thought our pensions were safe and only new starters after 2018, would be on an inferior scheme?

The proposed changes to the RM pension scheme only apply to how current employees build up pension from 1st April 2018.
As a deferred member you have a pension based on your 23 years in the job, which increases each year by inflation until you take it and then continues to increase in payment too. You have left the company and so will not be affected!
