ANY BENEFIT AFTER DEATH?

Your state pension finishes upon your death, there is no lump sum payable. If your husband/wife/partner (sorry, I don't know your gender) is currently in receipt of a UK state pension then that would continue unchanged.

As I understand it, if the age difference between you and your husband/wife is less than 15 years then your RM pension that they would receive upon your death would be roughly equal to half of your current entitlement. If the age difference is 15 years or greater then the amount decreases. As with the state pension there is no lump sum payment on your death.

Your best bet would be to contact the Pension Service Helpline on 0044 (0)345 6030043

ANY BENEFIT AFTER DEATH?

There may be some state pension benefits that you’ve built up that may pass to your surviving spouse on your death. Your widow/widower may also be entitled to bereavement benefits. Details : https://www.pensionsadvisoryservice.org ... h-benefits" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There may also be a lump sum payable from your RM pension, depending on your circumstances, aswell as the spouses pension. Full details:

C members: http://www.royalmailpensionplan.co.uk/s ... 4.1.13.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Personally I’ve never heard of the ‘15 years age difference’ as mentioned above, and it’s certainly not mentioned in any RM pension literature I’ve ever read.
