Original Bonusplan estimate was wishful thinking!

Post by fly-catchers »

Came across my original Bonusplan application form today. They used 10% increase per year as their calculation figure! So my £1.97 plus RM £1.97 (as it was them) would be worth over £59000 when I reached 60 and give a regular pension of over £7000 from it. If only... In reality if I took it as a pension I would get about £300 per year, so more valuable as a lump sum.
Shows what pie in the sky all these estimates are and how you should only based your plans on worse case scenarios !!

£59k and £7k per year, is that all? :left:

Mine was £145k with a pension of nearly £18k. If only! :cuppa

Not only does it show that those old estimates were way off the mark, it also shows how much annuity rates have gone down. Even if my Bonusplan was worth £145k it would only give me around £6k or so at age 60 these days.
