This year's defined contribution statements?

Post by toomuchcoke »

Has anyone/everyone else not received their statement for the defined contribution pension scheme? I've definitely not received one, and asking around the people below me on the seniority list in my office generated a lot of "I don't think so, I'm not sure" which wasn't wildly helpful! So I figured I ask on here because surely there's at least one postie who pays attention to this sort of thing!

Checking back we seem to have got it May in previous years, hence my puzzlement. OTOH I have moved house since last year, was I supposed to tell the pension people as well as the Royal Mail or does that sort of thing flow through from HR?

Not arrived yet. I too have been waiting for it and a few weeks ago I phoned to ask when they would be sent out and the answer I got was a very vague June or July from someone who sounded totally disinterested.

Can’t you login in to your online account to see what it’s worth?

Nice to know that the people managing your money are on the ball and have your best interests at heart! :arrrghhh

Probably could if I had some login details for such ... And doubtless I could arrange to get some login details, but it's a pension it's not like I need that level of detail that frequently!

You should have a user number and a password as detailed here(page 27): https://www.zurich.co.uk/internet/works ... 714073.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And just to be clear they will be able to provide all the information we get on our annual statement. Is that correct ???

Whist asking stupid questions do you know if it would be possible to transfer a 16k Barclays pension into the Royal Mail pension scheme.

Thanks

Online access is available to those people in the RM Defined Contribution Plan(RMDCP), so anyone who joined the pension after April 2008. And anyone who’s paying AVC’s into Flexiplan and/or Bonusplan via the RM Pension Plan(RMPP). There is no online access to the RMPP itself.

As a Section C member of the RMPP I have no personal experience of the RMDCP, but my online account for my AVC’s just includes fairly basic info like current value, investment choices, etc. There are no predictions of how much pension I might get in the future, but there are numerous ‘pension calculators’ on the web that can do that.

If you’re in the RMDCP and your Barclays pension is also a DC scheme, it may be possible to transfer it. Get in touch with the Zurich RM Service Team for more info.

I don’t think it’s possible to transfer into the RMPP anymore.

Hi Robert,

Thanks again for your reply.

I think I may be more confused than ever.

I have AVCs held with Zurich but dint know anything about my main pension being held by them.

Are you saying that they hold all Royal mail pensions. If so it seems stage that I have never been told or issued a password or anything and neither have a few friends.

I may be missing the point completely and misunderstood you.

Zurich administer Bonusplan and Flexiplan, which are only available to members of the RMPP, which itself is partly run by RM and partly by the government.
Zurich also run the RMDCP.

People who started paying into their RM pension before April 2008 will be in the RMPP, afterwards it’s the RMDCP.

When Zurich took over the running of the AVC’s in 2010, I received details about how to login to my accounts online and have done so ever since. I assume that anyone starting to pay AVC’s since then would also be given similar details. Or perhaps not?

I suggest you get in touch with the pensions centre and ask about it.

Hi Robert,

I think thats where I got confused. I do have log in details for my AVCs with Zurich. I thought from what i read that my pension was also with them now.

As I started before 2008 I assume Royal Mail look after my pension. School boy error from me.

Thanks

Assuming the RMPP closes in 2018 and is replaced by the RMDCP as mentioned on other threads, your pension from then on probably will be with Zurich.
