Hi,
Im trying to find some information out on behalf of my uncle. He is a cleaner working full time for Romec. He has been a cleaner for the post office / Romec for 30 years and is 55 years old. And has paid into his pension all that time. We would like to know when he is able to retire? Any information would be gratefully receieved as Romec are not forth coming!
Thanks

I'm not too sure whether Romec employees are still part of the RM pension scheme or not, but your uncle can take his pension any time after reaching 55. There will probably be a 5% reduction for each year he takes it before the normal pension age for the scheme.
If he's in the RM pension then this might be worth looking at:

He can retire whenever he likes as long as he can afford to.WHITEANT wrote:Your uncle can ask for his pension now ,he will take a hit on his lump sum and monthly pension but cant retire till hes 60

Re: Retirement Info Needed
I'm dreading retirement, and just hope my last working day makes it all worthwhile, even if the fiver doesn't last much longer than the breakfast.
