Royal Mail Pensions - Early Leavers

Hi there,

I'm new to this and looking for some information.

Has anybody out there ever used the Royal Mail Early Leavers Team?
I was medically retired in 1996, now aged 55.
I want to cash in my Royal Mail Pension, as it is small enough not to worry about, but just enough to stop me getting the benefits that I should be entitled to.

RM Helpline told me to use the Early Leavers Team, but he couldn't give me any more info. So any help or advice welcome.

If you are medically retired you're presumably already getting your pension?

If that's the case then you've already had 14 years worth of payments and you can't cash in the remainder I'm afraid.

When I left RM in late 2008 I spoke with the Early Leavers Team, and from memory pretty certain it was through the HR services number 08456060603 but they were more to do with sorting out the arrangements (ie taking the pension early) before you actually leave.

As you are already getting your pension though you may be better to try the Pension Services Centre Helpline 08456030043 - or direct number 01142414545 (if they are not what you have tried already)
