Tax free lump sum

I know it's all speculation until it isn't but I see the media is pushing the story that the spring budget is looking at the max LS again. Lowest I've seen is down to £40k but lots of traction around £100k too. Typical when mine is due next year and currently above those figures. Does anyone know if you take the "maximum" for NRA60 does that reset again for NRA 65/67 or is it a total of all pensions?

The current maximum tax free cash you can take from all pensions is a total of £268,275.

Time will tell if that gets reduced or not, but personally I can't see it going as low as £40k.
I'm not particularly into politics, but a reduction of that magnitude sounds like political suicide to me!

People save and plan for years for a decent retirement. To think that could be destroyed in one swoop to pay for hotels for thousands who have no right to even be in the country after leaving safe countries to get here ( I'm not in to politics either ) j agree would be suicidal. . Not that politicians are bothered as their pensions are gold plated.
