Pension supplement. How long ?

Post by Wullie10 »

Does anyone have any experience of this ?
I am section C still working and receiving NRA60. I plan to leave RM soon and will want to claim the supplement that's paid until state pension age. In my case I was quoted about £2000 pa from my Nra60 pension. I may or may not take the 65 early but haven't decided yet.
The question is . How low does the supplement take to go into my monthly pay once I've told them I have left ? Is it all backdated from that date ? Is it a simple process or a long fight, lots of phone calls etc to get this money ?

I have no experience of this, but based on previous posts on here you'll have to tell them you've left and it might take a few months for them to get their fingers out and pay it. It should be backdated to the date your left the company.

You have to tell them you have left, it took about 3 months for mine to be sorted, and it is back dated

Mine took two months from the RMSPS and included having the contact their CEO! The RMPP took even longer at 8 months! Both were back dated when eventually paid. So contacting both schemes and chasing up when necessary is essential!

8 months ? That's criminal. Looks like 3 months before starting to get worried.

That is a disgrace but seems part and parcel the service we get when it comes to Pensions
