Re: Bonus plan and flexi plan
What do you mean by taking them?
You usually use AVC's to fund tax free cash with your Age60/65 pensions, and you'll get info on that at the time of taking those benefits.
Or else you can transfer them out separately to a personal pension, in which case you need to contact the RMPP PSC in Sheffield.
It's not possible to just take your AVC cash direct from Flexiplan and Bonusplan.

Email workplacesavings@scottishwidows.co.uk with your plan numbers and they should be able to help you.

Flexiplan & Bonusplan are products only members of the RMPP could pay into, therefore the RMPP are your point of contact should you need to manage them. Unless it's just changing investments, etc which can be done on the money4life website.

Re: Bonus plan and flexi plan
You can transfer your Flexiplan money into a SIPP and then get it to pay out, 25% of it is available as a lumpsum which, for most people is usually tax free, as long as you are aged 55 or above.
They won't let you transfer Bonusplan money, this has to be taken at the same time as your main RMPP benefits.

The rules associated with Bonusplan were that you had to carry on paying into it as long as you were an active employee member of the RMPP.robking wrote: ↑06 Mar 2025, 15:07You can transfer your Flexiplan money into a SIPP and then get it to pay out, 25% of it is available as a lumpsum which, for most people is usually tax free, as long as you are aged 55 or above.

As the RMPP is now closed, there's absolutely nothing preventing anyone from transferring Bonusplan to a personal pension.
I can confirm that because I've done it!

I needed money for building works in 2023 when Bonusplan was still running and when i tried to transfer it to my SIPP i was told I couldn't unless I took my NRA65 benefits early. I was reluctant to do that so in the end I borrowed the money from family.
My NRA65 pension is due in November so I will now look into transferring the £13400 Bonusplan fund into a SIPP so that I can take it in the 2026/27 tax year.
Hargreaves Lansdowne are offering cashback on transferred in pensions too.
