Changing bank details with pension providers
I've just changed my bank account and thought contacting the two pension providers would be a simple process, how wrong I was. First I emailed RMPP and recieved an automated reply stating I need to send a scanned letter with my bank details and signature on, that was a right PITA trying to get a signature on a word document, I sent this off, they replied saying we don't except a digital signed letter I have to phone. on the phone on hold for 20+ mins all this for my pension of £6.60 after tax per month, anyway finally got that sorted, thought Capita might be easier, got through quite quickly but the woman on the phone said that I can't change bank details over the phone
that I have to write them a letter with scans of evidence of my new bank account, going to be tricky because it's one of those new fangled digital banks, or they can send me a bank mandate in the post, should arrive in 10 -12 working days. I need to return it with evidence i.e scans of bank statements etc to prove my new bank account. I thought we were well into the 21st Century. I said to the woman on the phone "this is all a bit archaic isn't it?" she got a bit shirty and said "this is the way we've alway done it!"
"Never have I known an employee so keen to employ you, then so eager to get rid of you!"
