Pension after death

My Uncle died recently, he was single and in his will he left everything to his sister, my Mum, but she also died at the beginning of the year so my Uncle's estate now goes to my Dad. My uncle had a RM pension of £600 a month, I think he was a section A pension member as he started work in 1964. We don't think he nominated anyone to receive his pension after death. So just wondering would his pension just stop or would, there be some death benefit payable.

Lump sum upon death is normally only paid out within five years of first receiving Royal Mail pension. That’s the case of section B. I believe that is also the case with Section A
