SERPS pension, worth transferring

I have an old SERPS pension. I received a letter the other day saying it can be transferred into another pension plan. It is sitting there gathering dust really, would it be worth, or even possible, to transfer it to my royal mail pension.

I assume your SERPS pension is a DC scheme?

Transfers into the RMSPS and RMPP are not allowed, but if you're in the RMDCP then you should be able to transfer another DC pension into that.

Whether it's a good idea to transfer will depend on a few factors, such as charges and investment returns.

You may just be able to switch your investments within your existing scheme, to stop it 'gathering dust'.
