How far behind are Capita?

Post by drokk54 »

So, I completed Capita and RMPP pension claims after receiving forcasts (with help over the phone from RMPP)
and returned bost sets of paperwork on a Wednesday.

The following Wednesday RMPP follow-up arrived, detailing the dates of lump-sum and regular pension payments, all good and super quick turn around - even more so with a weekend in the mix. Good job RMPP.

Ten days after RMPP arrived there's no Capita paperwork yet.

I am aware that they are the slower of the pair to process, does anyone recall how far behind they usually are or can it depend on how far away my pension triggering Birthday is? In my case it's September, so more than a month to go yet.

They seem to wait until its almost due before they look at it, and then if you made any error they send a second class letter to you to do it again.

Having literally gone through the NRA60 process just weeks ago, I think it best to make a quick call to Capita just to check they have all the necessary paperwork completed correctly.
I did this after RMPP had sent confirmation of amounts due and dates to be paid. It was a good job I did as I hadn't sent the LTA for the RMPP as I assumed, wrongly, that Capita would know that! They then sent out that part to be completed. Done. Sent back. Nothing heard so checked via phone again after a couple of weeks and all well. One week later they sent confirmation of amounts due and dates to be paid. That was approximately 4 weeks prior to the payment date.
Capita are fine as long as you proactively chase them. Otherwise you will be left wondering as they never confirm anything!

Good advice. I made sure to get the LTA correct and phoned up RMPP to make sure I was giving Capita the right info that was required from the RMPP side of things and getting it in the correct boxes. They gave the impressions that the questions I was asking were very common and were very helpful, understanding and timd me "what numbers to put where".

It would be nice to know as early as possible that everything is in hand in the same way RMPP did with a 7 day turnaround. If We get past August week one and I've not heard anything I think I'll give them a tinkle, just to be on the safe side ...

Two things that bother me . As I work all week and don't get home till about 5pm I don't fancy trying to ring them and then listening to music for an hour before they tell me they are now closed.. the second worry is if my regular postie is on his week off ( he works at another office ) then I'll be getting no mail that week. A month till first payment is cutting it a bit fine under the circumstances. I've had an estimate from Capita but no forms to post off. I posted off the form to RMPP but that's all so far... its understandable , but with all these postmen ringing to check every few days are actually making the situation worse , blocking the telephone lines ? The LTA ends next year so hopefully this will make the process so much easier in future.

The whole process is nonsense

Just give the contract back to RM - none of this back and forth chasing stuff up rubbish

Just to say from my experience was that Capitas initial paperwork arrived the next day after RMPPs so I would chase that.
Both times I rang them,I was through within a minute and were helpful.

Rang them this morning, after a couple of options I was straight thru to a very helpful guy. As for time difference my RMSPS estimate arrived 2 days ago & my RMPP estimate was posted on 30th June, it never arrived, waiting for replacement

I’m having a nightmare with them. They said they couldn’t identify me using the online thing they use. They sent a letter out asking for ID. Sent them a photocopy of my passport, signed by a solicitor and my original copy of my council tax bill which didn’t need signed as it’s an orginal. New letter today to say that they are happy with the photocopy of my driving licence(even though it was my passport I sent) , but my original council tax bill was no use because it’s a photocopy and not an original(it is). Was told the team would look at this again but could take 5-10 working days. Now I have no council tax bill for my records.
