Robert T, thank you for sharing your pension knowledge over the years. You've shown planning early for retirement does pay off. If you decide to go official I'd happily pay you for advice. Please keep checking in. Enjoy your early retirement. :Applause
Many thanks for the nice messages! :thumbup

After 36 years, I've decided to call it a day. I think I've done my time and now it's time to go.
Infact I actually left a week or so ago!

I'm a bit unsure whether I'll continue visiting this site, as the day to day stuff of Blue Shirts, Union Room, etc doesn't really apply to me anymore.

Although I've always enjoyed contributing to the pensions board, and they do transcend employment status to a large degree.
So we'll have to wait and see....

Not sure why my name hasn't turned purple?? :hmmmm

I wish you all luck for the future, in terms of Royal Mail and life in general. But particularly with your pensions and retirement plans. :wave

If you go right down to the bottom of the forum (Index page of the pension forum-not the whole forum) you will see a link to 'Subscribe forum'.
That way if anyone starts a new topic you will be notified.
Something to think about if you're interested. :pray

Take care either way.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You have inspired many folks on here to take an interest in what is a complicated matter. With great success I might add.
In doing so there financial outcomes are much better than with your knowledge than without!.
As you’ve said not being in the fold anymore life goes on & our pensions will get more complicated can be difficult to keep up with.
Good luck for the future & enjoy your retirement.

Your contributions to the pension forum have been invaluable over the years. I wish you all the best for the future and hope that you drop in from time to time.

Did you decide to take your benefits early or are you waiting until the nra dates?
