NRA 60 procedure.

Post by Paulo1963 »

Can someone advise on the procedure for taking my pension early whilst continuing working. I’m 60 in April and have received 2 letters from Royal Mail Statutory Pension Scheme (which informs me of my 2 options) and from Royal Mail Pension Plan. If I choose to take the RMSPS offer of a lump sum and yearly payment, what is my next step? I only have one form to return and that is in the RMPP letter.
Thanks.

I have no personal experience of this but my understanding of the basic procedure is:

You will receive your initial quotes from RMPP and RMSPS and you decide which options to chose and return the forms.
You'll then get revised quotes including any DBCBS and/or AVC's.
You return them again saying you want to continue and take your benefits.

There's a useful video in the media library on the RMPP website which might help you understand things better.
