RMSPS....Information they will ask you for....

Post by Hawkey99 »

Thought I would share this with you all.

Im trying to claim my NRA 65 from RMSPS.

They require the following information from you when you claim your NRA 65 pension from them.

They need your LTA percentage amount.
A list of all of the benefits you receive from Royal Mail and other providers.

I cant find any paperwork about my LTA percentage amount so Ill ring them tomorrow.....All looks very very complicated to me....

On the other hand my RMPP NRA 65 has been a walk in the park with no issues...

Very happy to post the letter but system won't let me.....or send them to you....

Their statements don't show you that information. I'm not sure that you would be in a position to provide it to them either beyond a very broad number - they should be telling that to you, as they have all the data to assign a value to your pension benefits as of right now  .

Hi Hawkey99,
They only require LTA from any pension you are already receiving in my case Royal Air Force.

Are you sure? When mine was due I rang them to ask the very question that has been posted on here. I only had RMPP as well as RMSPS but I was told they needed to know the RMPP figures as well to determine the LTA.

Hi, did RMPP provide information required, percentage of LTA , crystallised figure and lump sum? I have a certificate RMPP issued when I took my NRA60 and It shows % of LTA but I can’t see crystallised figure and lump sum apart from an amount I believe is the DBCBS paid at 60.

Originally the only requirement for the LTA was from RMSPS. However recently the RMPP now also request the LTA figures.

So as you can see....Its all a bloody farce....

I have now contact RMPP to ask them to provide me with the information that RMSPS require.

I mean....It wouldn't be easier for them to liaise with each other would it....

Thanks you Robert for posting information......

Not like royal mail to make things more complicated than they have to be.

Do you mean Capita?

If so, they are responsible for the admin for sections A, B & C of the RM pension, up to 31st March 2012. Otherwise known as the RM Statutory Pension Scheme.
Their website is here: https://www.royalmailsps.co.uk/

The Pension Service Centre in Sheffield is RM's in house pension admin service and they are responsible for 1st April 2012 onwards. They are the RM Pension Plan.
Their website is here: https://www.royalmailpensionplan.co.uk/

Depending on when you joined or left RM employment, you may have benefits with both.

Anyone who joined RM after 1st April 2008 will probably have benefits in the RM Defined Contribution Plan with Scottish Widows: https://www.scottishwidows.co.uk/save/royalmaildcplan/
And anyone in that for more than 5 years may have chosen to join section F of the RMPP instead.
