I am coming up to 65 next year, if I take my age 65 benefits can I remain working for another year as I don’t qualify for the old age pension until I’m 66

Employers used to be able to force their workers to retire at 65, but that changed in 2011!

Although there can be circumstances where companies can still push people out, such as if it's felt an employee can't physically do the job anymore.

Years ago the NRA for our pension was 60. But following changes in 2008, RMPP members now have to wait until 65 to get all of their pension without penalties. That's due to the closure of the final salary scheme, the implementation of the CARE scheme and an increase in NRA for all pension accrued from 2010.

The new CDC pension will have an NRA of 67!

If you don't want to carry on working well into your 60's or beyond, ultimately it's up to the individual to do something about it.

No. The union wanted to release Carry On Taking It Up The Khyber, but Terry had to change the name to Deal of the Century after taking legal advice.
