OUR PENSION vs THE ROYALMAIL PROPAGANDA

Post by k979aaa »

For now is the time we must all decide what to believe in our pension our future or the propaganda of royalmail a company that will not take responsibility for it's lack of action! for i have payed for over 18 year's and royalmail have not payed for at least ten year's of those!. Now we can see that we are dealing with hardend liar's (HAVE A LOOK AT THE DVD THAT WILL COME THROUGH YOUR DOOR SOON) for now we have seen the spin of royalmail and they don't fool me!. Now once this get's through they will come back for far more maybe even put us all in the new DEFINED CONTRIBUTION PLAN OF 2009!. We now must all VOTE on this in our workplace ballot for this will be our only say for now!. FOR IT IS UP TO EACH AN EVERYONE OF US TO ENSURE WE HAVE OUR SAY ON OUR PENSION AND NOT ROYALMAIL'S !. OUR FUTURE IS NOW NOT TEN OR TWENTY OR EVEN THIRTY YEAR'S FOR NOW DON'T LEAVE IT TO LATE FOR YOU WILL HAVE A LIFETIME OF REGRET!. SPEEK NOW (VOTE) OR FORTHWITH EVER HOLD YOUR PEACE!.

I'm not in the pension scheme, but I have still voted to reject the changes. I know that with my vote I may have to take strike action on an issue that does not affect me, that at the end of the day if a strike were to be called all I would get out of it is less money in my wages. BUT I still voted, not with my heart, although I have every sympathy with your struggle, but with my head. Your struggle is my struggle and when the result of the ballot is in and it is clear that we the membership (both those in the pension scheme and those not) must insist that the union represent our views from now on. If we must strike to halt this, then we must. It really is as simple as that. So if you have not voted, do it tomorrow. If I'm willing to forget that the 'yes' voters stitched us up, if I'm willing to forget that I was again on the losing side regarding SDD, if I'm willing to sacrifice my livelihood then the least you can do is FIGHT for what is yours. If you don't RM will continue to take, take take. We may not win, but we can make it so painful for RM that they never again try anything as immoral as this again.

I think the capitalists would say, there can NEVER be enough profit. The vermin we have in charge would never be satisfied, and if they succeed in this
raid, they'll be back for more.

What was on that dvd that came through this morning? I have'nt got a telly to watch it on and I don't want to play it on my laptop as it'll probably give it a virus :cuppa
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I cannot say, I threw mine in the bin straight away. Still, I would imagine it was just like the booklet that came with it, but with pictures. :Very Happy

I think they admit that in the propaganda, reminds me of the wording applied to terminal bonuses in with profits endowments.
"benefits will be reduced if taken before 65 by 5% a year. The reduction factor will be calculated by the trustee nearer the time.
Anyones endowment improved recently?
Freudian slip?

how do people feel about the fact we are already in a 2 tier pension situation as older members have a better pension plan as newer members already. These people accepted years ago to have a better pension that new recruits.Hypocrisy again perhaps

I get the same impression, mate.
Page 7 of the booklet that accompanied the dvd. "It is only if we make significant changes to the pension plan that we will be able to reduce this risk." Note, only reduce, not eliminate.

This from page 6. "Our competitors typically pay much lower contributions to their pension arrangements (around 9%).

Just these two brief statements tell me all I need to know. 1. Executives with all the business nous of a gnat, will see attacking our pensions as an easy
way of making a cost cutting.
2. The lame-brains in Old St. won't be happy until they've turned what is one of the few good pension schemes in Britain, into one lost in a sea of
mediocrity.

this has been coming for a long time -problem was the Old St Brain's Trust were too hellbent on confrontation and strikes . Just translate Leightonspeak -"The legacy from the past "

Last I heard was that there was some sort of delay, and the closing deadline had been put back to the end of the month. Saying that I'd check with your rep ASAP as now the bank holiday weekend is on us, your talking Tuesday really before you could cast your vote. In my office the rep brought the ballot paper to each member, explained the union position and told everyone where the ballot box was, then left you to do your thing. It took him about 3 days to get round the whole office. Get onto your rep and cast your vote.

Our Branch is having round the clock meetings in the MC next week, at which members
will be given the ballot paper and have it explained why the Union is recommending to
reject RM's proposals.
