No. 216/11
Ref: GS: 14.0
Date: 04/03/11

To All Branches

Dear Colleagues,

Lord Hutton’s Independent Public Service Pension Commission (IPSPC) Report

Branches would wish to know that Lord Hutton of Furness will publish his final report on 10 March setting out his recommendations to the Government on public service pension arrangements that are sustainable and affordable in the long term, fair to both the public service workforce and the taxpayer and consistent with the fiscal challenges ahead, whilst protecting accrued rights.

The final report will be available via the following link:  www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/pensionscommission on the day of publication.
Any enquiries on this LTB should be addressed to the General Secretary’s office quoting the reference GS 14.0

Yours sincerely,

W. Hayes
General Secretary

Good old John Hutton..... :Sick

John Hutton on the Post Office,,,
"The Post Office has to change, we will need fewer sub-post offices, that is inescapable. It's a business and it's making a whacking loss. People aren't using the Post Office in the same way that they used to, they use the internet much more, we pay benefits and pensions directly to people's banks. We could go on as taxpayers picking up the £200 million worth of losses every year but aren't there better things we should be doing with that money?"

John Hutton on fat cats...
"We have to lose the old rhetoric about people earning too much," he says. "People aspire to earn as much as possible, there's nothing wrong with the super rich as long as they pay their way."
John Hutton on obscene bonuses....
"Everything has to be justified but it has to be justified to shareholders not to ministers," he says. "As a country we have got to lose this obsession with how much these people earn. There shouldn't be a ceiling on aspirations. The sort of salaries we are talking about are huge to my constituents in Barrow but rather than moan we should try to unlock more people's talent."
John Hutton on even more obscene bonuses.....
"I don't think people in the City are sharks," he says. "It is intense, it is competitive, it is probably harder than being a minister. These guys take a huge risk and a lot of it is personal. I don't risk my money day in day out."
Don't expect any favours from this "Independent" report.
The only pension that worries Lord John Hutton....is his own.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I agree...like Blair, his hero...he is nothing more than an opportunist.
I'm sure he has Labour sewn onto his underwear in case he forgets which party he is "affiliated" to. :cuppa
