Anybody retired and moved to Spain?

Post by Fatboyslim »

I've been trying to convince the missus to buy a place in either Spain/Canaries/Cyprus. I banked my lump sum plus vr. Just sat in the bank doing not much.

I hate winter (main hobby of motorbikes is non existent). So, my plan is to live here all summer. Then clear off winter. Now winter is nearly half way. We are looking at a long tern rental next winter - to see how she goes. Now she is a grandmother - she's not so keen. FFS its only a 2-4 hour flight away...

Good luck - let us know how you get on.

If we don’t move permanently we may also do this with summers in the uk, winters abroad, it’s a good option. We won’t be looking to buy anywhere just for the winter though, but will rent instead as it’s cheaper and gives you options for changing locations. Oct/Nov down in southern Spain and January / February in the canaries would break the winter up nicely.
