Maybe it is to entice RM to go for the scheme itself. A kind of sweetener to try something more adventurous with the state pension age moving to a later age? Why they would buy into the political mantra of having to work longer is beyond me. It seems that there is a concerted effort from ALL parties to make people work longer, regardless of their occupation, health, or other status. I would guess it is to line up the RM pension age with the state pension age.

The CWU’s WinRS proposal had an NRA of state pension age and it was agreed during the negotiations that a set age of 67 was better.Celgar wrote:I would guess it is to line up the RM pension age with the state pension age.
Depending on how old you are currently, your state pension age could be anything between 65 and 68! And it could yet increase again for the younger ones amongst us.

67 is completely unacceptable to me.
I've seen too many of my colleagues pegging out at 60-65 after retirement some even earlier.
How many is going to be able to reach 67 and enjoy the benefits, probably a lot less than at 60.
What they should be doing is, NRA60 with pension plus up to 67 if you pay extra contributions and retire anytime before 67 with no hit.
The CDC in its current form, I'm voting no.
