I know F.. All about pensions but I believe we should be paying into a Personal Pension Plan as well as RM. Simply on the proviso that you don't "put all your eggs in one basket".
What does worry me is, if you F.. Up your pension and get to 65, if someone says,"You should have done this...". It's too F..ing Late! Everything in life can be changed, but how the hell do do sort out a Pensions Cock Up?
I suppose no-one gives a s**t and you're just throw on the scrap heap which all the Bankers and MPs piss apon!! Rant Over Good Luck:Very Happy
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)

You first get your hands on one of these.....
And then you go find the nearest branch of R.B.S....pension sorted.
If you get caught you will have 3 square meals and no one will want to have sex with you because you will be too old....and if you don't get caught...you will get all the sex you can take until either the heart or the money gives out....
You've given me an idea FT. However I do believe that shotgun may be ill-legal! Plus I would of course require a list of the Pension Directors. I hope M.I 5 ( or M.I 6) are not monitoring this site. If they are, "I'm still waiting for Godo!"

My pension is a long long way away but i'm saving my arse off for when i'm older.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I'm sure everyone has different reasons for saving, but the reason I save IS to spend. I'm just postponing spending it!
Good advice...but don't postpone it for too long.....or somebody else will be spending it.
And if you get divorced...hide and deny everything.
I knew a guy who knew a guy etc....

So let me get this right.
Some of you are handing over your hard earned cash to people you have never met ,who then hand it over to investment bankers and hedge fund managers who they have never met, all on the strength of a flimsy promise of healthy returns in 30 years time
who makes who well off here then ??? i thought we paid into a NIC scheme starting from day one at work and this was supposed to provide us with a reasonable amount when we retire ??
"why should it just be the bankers, politicians and the idle rich who get all the best things ? we demand a standard of living for our members that enables them to share in the fine wines and times that the likes of Cameron and his Eton buddies take for granted " - the late great Bob Crow RIP.

I've been investing in share based investments for over 10 years now and have done very nicely thankyou.
Seen the news lately ?
Yes I've seen that the stock market has gone up about 70% in the last two years and my investments doing very well!

The basic state pension will currently provide £97 per week, assuming you have 30 qualifying years of NI contributions. Not exactly a reasonable amount!
