Hi guys who informs our pension people to start paying us once we have given our weeks notice. I'm hoping it's Royalmail. I'm in receipt of my 60 pension .Are due payments backdated in case of delay
I assume it's too much to expect nra 60 people and nra 65 people will be informed to also pay the section C supplement until state retirem
ent age. Thanks for any information
PS ..Also will they inform the inland revenue or is that left to the individual.
Thanks again

Re: Who informs pensions after giving weeks notice
RM will tell the pensions people when you leave. But whether that means they'll automatically start paying your Age60 supplement, is another thing. So it's probably best to contact them yourself.
Payments should be backdated to your leaving day.
They'll be in touch a few months before you're 65 for your Age65 benefits, unless you want them earlier, in which case it's up to you to start the process.
RM will tell HMRC when you leave and your tax affairs will sort themselves out in due course. But if you want them sorted as soon as possible, it's probably best to tell them of your new circumstances.

Re: Who informs pensions after giving weeks notice
Thanks very much I'm 63 and will shortly finish the job as its 6 now too much for me physically. So I give weeks notice and tell nra65 and nra67 myself instead of Royalmail telling them?
Sorry I'm a bit thick and they've made it quite complicated. Neither my management or colleagues fully understand it

Re: Who informs pensions after giving weeks notice
When you leave, RM will tell the pensions people so they know you're now an ex employee. That's all they're telling them!
If you want to take your pension/s as well, you have to inform the pensions people yourself, because you're choosing to take them before Normal Retirement Age.
It's also best to make sure they know you've left, so they can pay the supplement in relation to your Age60 benefits.
You've obviously gone through the process of taking your Age60 – it's a similar process with Age65.
They will send your options forms, you make your choices and send the forms back. It'll probably take 3-4 months.
I'm not in the RMCPP(Age67) and don't have much info on that, but I assume it's fairly similar.
