mail centre staff.

hi there i work in a mail centre on mornings.my current shift is monday to friday on earlies 6.15 to 2.15.
i am hearing rumours that they want everyone on mornings to work a permanent tuesday to sat shift as the majority of early shifts are on a tuesday to saturday basis.
can anyone tell me whether this appears to be the case,having travelled around delivery offices i do feel sorry for the staff they seem to be under constant pressure to do a difficult job with crap resources.i have done nearly 30 years and to me this company is going backwards in my opinion.

Think yourself lucky mate,at our MC early shift is 0600-1400 tues to sat,AND saturday is 0600-1600!! ,believe me you don't want to change to that.I'd kill for a mon-fri duty.Make the most of it while it lasts(good luck! ).

hi hubba hubba, thanks for the reply,yes i realise at the moment i am lucky to have mon to friday was just wondering how other mail centres operate. i know the majority of our staff work 6.15 t 2.15 tuesday to sat so really we are in the minority.however when you have done 30 years i feel you should have a reasonable shift after all you have done your fair share of crap shifts.

hi kh, thanks for telling me how your mail centre operates,i guess we are lucky at the moment to have a good union member at our place.
i am hearing that the management would like everyone on a tuesday to sat hope we can retain our mon to frid shift as long as possible.
