gatwick outhouse

Post by subterfuge »

Hi,
I start work tomorrow as a christmas casual memebr of staff. Usually people work at the main gatwick mail sorting office, but I was told that this year work is being carried out at the Gatwick outhouse, Unit F2, RH10 2GT.

When i type that postcode into google maps, it just gives me the general RH10 area, as if that post code is incorrect? (although that is the postcode on the sheet given to me by the recruitment team)

Does anyone know where this is? Is it near the main sorting office? a few other people on another forum iare also confised about this.
cheers.

Not even Royal Mail Postcode search recognises that post code http://postcode.royalmail.com/portal/rm/addressfinder" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Don't have a road name do you to help narrow it down, or perhaps it would be worth ringing the contact number that hopefully came with your instructions.

Hi.
All I have is Gatwick outhouse, Unit F2, Gatwick road, Crawley, RH10 2GT

There is NO contact number :(
Only an email address which I have yet to recieve a reply from.

Annoying. Im bound to arrive about an hour late after I eventually find it on my first day! (although judging from another forum where a few others are also confused, I wont be the only one!)
I can only imagine they've put the wrong postcode on everyone info/recruitment sheets?

A search on http://www.streetmap.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; points to what looks to be a new industrial estate (so new that the roads haven't got names) at the junction of the A23 and A2011, if that helps.

Get yourself to the roundabout and just follow the first big red lorry that you see !

Doesn't this just make you so proud to work for Royal Mail.
How difficult is it to tell people where they have to go to get to work?
Pop on the postcode - you're not properly addressed without it.

What if the lorry is leaving? He could end up anywhere.

Oooh, finally got an email from the email address given on the recruitment sheet.
They are now saying that the correct postcode is RH10 2ZX.
That doesn't actually help me much according to google map, although apparently there wil be a banner at the main sorting office, so if we go there instead we might be able to get directions!

Something quite ironic about this mixup with postcodes.....

Yes that is my reading of the situation. I went to check out last night and underneath the to let sign it has a Royal Mail jobs banner. Though the place was empty bar a few Royal Mail trolleys. The site is accessed off the Fleming road roundabout(Second right from Gatwick, First left from Crawley) I believe it was originally the mail depot before they moved to James Watt way. The site seems basic and parking looks poor.
