I doubt it - we are supposed to ask permission to leave the floor,
and only allowed to go twice a day, for no longer than 10 minutes.
Though the better managers have more sense than to enforce that.

That's no surprise ! Happens all the time on back shift and 2 managers in particular are the worst offenders ! I know that people have even been FOLLOWED into the toilets .
I was once accused of going out for a smoke when I hadn't. My reply to that manager was that I had to use a particular set of toilets as the other ones nearby didn't have a vending machine for "certain" items that men don't use ! He swiftly changed the subject .

I can confirm this happened to someone earlier in the week also. Seems some managers are using the royal mails ( noise up the staff because of the forthcoming strike) a little too willingly, ..

Some managers here seem to revel in it too as it gives them a real sense of self importance & a chance to settle old scores with staff whom they either dislike or have previously shown them up for the idiots that they are.. ...

Be assured this is a small sign of what is to come & just what it will be like if they get their way & kill off the union, cue the posties in stripped uniforms & managers in jackboots with alsatians on the leash...

We simply MUST win this strike or the job won't be worth doing, the ramifications of the management given "carte blanch" to treat their staff & run their MC"s & DO"S as they please as long as they achieve their targets once they've killed off the union are dire for us..

Stand together & convince anyone thinking of crossing the picket line of just what is at stake here.. Educate both yourselfs & anyone thinking of scabbing as to what will happen if we fail... the royal mail aim to crush us, the union, freedom of speech
& our democratic right to withhold our labour (strike) if they get their way...

gone from one extreme to another , probably from what I've seen in Distribution - looking in as too lax , then ridiculously draconian . It's amazing what they choose to ignore though especially with all the dim witted and over zealous political correctness .

The brain dead machine that rolls along - just got much , much worse .

RM's always been that way , if you don't stand up to them , you get pushed around - end of .
