Is it true, that it's now normal practice to leave any mail delayed by strike action, until ALL of our own work is completed?
That's what we were told yesterday, when they put 2 rows of 4 stacks of inward 2 to one side, and told us not to touch it, until all our own inward 2 was completed. Because it's already late surely this can't be right can it?
Shouldn't it have been upgraded to first class, or at least processed before the newer second class?
Isn't it willful delay, putting it to one side like that?

Re: Delayed inward mail
I thought as much! Whatever happened to providing a service?
I know that the delay was caused by strikes. But why make it even later, just to save money?
Or perhaps it was to make a point.

Re: Delayed inward mail
In our office, for the last two days, anyone who was on strike on tue 29 sept were told to cut off as they would not be paid if they went over their time. Of course the scumbags that did not strike were allowed to work beyond their time and be paid. 1st point is what has happened to willful delay of the mail, 2nd point is what has happened to victimisation. Our shop steward says that he was informed that there is nothing the union can do. Does the RM Regulator know whats happening. Do our customers know that we post people are prepaired to finnish our rounds but RM refuse to let us, making the customer suffer more.
:cfo It seems to me managers are rubbing their hands thinking how many hours they are saving rather than customer service ,(probably thinking of their big bonus).
Seing managers doing ips in the afternoon would not be happening if our union were on top if not ahead of RM practices. :mfo

Sorry, are you saying that if you went over your time you wouldn t get paid for the days work? Or are you trying to claim docket?jim1911 wrote:In our office, for the last two days, anyone who was on strike on tue 29 sept were told to cut off as they would not be paid if they went over their time. No, I am saying that if I needed to finish my round passed my finish time, then claim overtime, I could not do so, and I was told to cut off, but the strike breakers could work over their hours and get paid. Since I was prepaired to finish my round past my time but was told I could not do so, that is willful delay of the mail by the manager.

Re: Delayed inward mail
Well, unfortunately that's the environment we work in now...... there is no way that management will pay docket to any striker who wants to work past his time. Must say, I have never worked in a company so divided as this one, its really is an indictment of management and our very poor government. :cfo :mfo :mfo :cfojim1911 wrote:No, I am saying that if I needed to finish my round passed my finish time, then claim overtime, I could not do so, and I was told to cut off, but the strike breakers could work over their hours and get paid.
