Royal Mail Apprentice Scheme Interview...
Hello everyone,
I have been to the North West Midlands Mail Centre today for my interview (included test & tour) for the 2009 Apprenticeship Intake. I really enjoyed it & really all went well.
What I would like to know, is roughly how long do Royal Mail take to get back to candidates to the let them know the outcome of their desicion?
Many Thanks

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thanks for your replies, FINGERS CROSSED
But I don't know Delboy, there was 3 sessions at 3 different inductions. Last Thursday was in Derby, Friday in Coventry & then today at the North West Midlands (Wolverhampton).
That would be a lot of apprentices to take on in the region but I could be wrong. Being assessed by 4 mail centre managers was quite nerve racking but you can only hope. Also I only thought the scheme was only open to 16-24 year old but that seems to have changed as I was the only candidate in that age bracket!

How long is the training period, and what grade are you when you finish?

Re: Royal Mail Apprentice Scheme Interview...
The training period last 9 months in which you will get a NVQ Level 2. You can then choose whether to carry on your existing job role e.g mail sorter or move on to management (e.g start as an acting manager).
Really hope I will hear something today! I was I wasn't so impatient!

Re: Royal Mail Apprentice Scheme Interview...
Thanks for the messages guys!
I received that message last Wednesday and I know we are only on Monday going into Tuesday but I still haven't heard anything.
Would you say I would be best waiting until late Wednesday afternoon to wait for a reply & if I don't hear anything; give them a call?
Or even better has someone been in this situation before or work for the recruitment side of the business?

Re: Royal Mail Apprentice Scheme Interview...
Thanks postie pete! (The graduate scheme looks brilliant!) Hope your right!
I rang up the recruitment department this evening just to be on the safe side and her reply was there has been delay between units in sending & receiving packs but I should hopefully hear something either tomorrow or early next week!
Fingers crossed!
