Re: Automiss
It only covers mail sorted by a iLSM or a CSS.

Thanks, I'm delivery as you probably guessed.

How many letters, flats, packets I receive each day.

Re: Automiss
With the new packet scanning system, when it finally comes in, each york will be tagged as destined for a certain office (the inward MC or a DO) and all items for that york will be scanned to that york. I side affect of that system is probably the manager being able to see to a large degree what each walk will be getting when a 2D barcode has been scanned.
Between that, Automis, whatever the packet sorting and flat sorting machines use, I don't think it'll be too many years before a manager at a DO will be able to see exactly what each walk will have for the day. I wouldn't put it past RM at that point to have "dynamic lapsing" where the system decides which walks will be lapsed and which walks get what bits of the lapsed walks as their lapsing for the day

Re: Automiss
Cheers,
manager told us he knew exactly what the total was for all streams of mail via Automiss, without having to be in office.

Re: Automiss
Wonder if they've set up Automiss to accept data from any machine no matter who manufactured them and to accept data from the PDAs. We've been told that there's an absolute shitload of reports that can be generated by Automis, maybe they've started adding some that managers in DOs can use

Re: Automiss
Are packet sorters using the finger scanners to scan 2Ds in the MCs now?

Re: Automiss
I assumed they'd be automatically scanned as they passed through the parcel sorting machines, do we still sort many parcels 'manually' in mail centres these days ?Londonsburning wrote: ↑31 Jan 2025, 15:33Are packet sorters using the finger scanners to scan 2Ds in the MCs now?

Re: Automiss
All packets have been scanned for a few weeks now, you get the odd packet where there's nothing to scan.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑31 Jan 2025, 15:38I assumed they'd be automatically scanned as they passed through the parcel sorting machines, do we still sort many parcels 'manually' in mail centres these days ?Londonsburning wrote: ↑31 Jan 2025, 15:33Are packet sorters using the finger scanners to scan 2Ds in the MCs now?
Some MCs don't yet have packet sorting machines, those that do will still have some manual sorting, mainly for rejects
