Sunday only Special Delivery

At our MC they are trialling this where a select Customer/s can have their Specials picked up and Delivered on the same day on a Sunday any other MC's trialling this

We go live with it next Sunday the 30th. Got the briefing papers yesterday.

How will that work?

I can understand collecting them on a Sunday, and we already deliver many on a Sunday.

I’m unclear how RM will achieve end-to-end same-day service outside of a single collect/delivery office.

How many items is it expected to be on the Saturday nights? I'm guessing that they might have the regular night shift locker staff do the Saturday on rotation, perhaps their week they do less hours each night when they would be on the floor before lunch

Based on what is always waiting to go into the locker on a Saturday night its 3 - 4 yorks worth, (would have been more if international tracked was still locker) Not alot compared to bigger MC.

very soon all specials will go out with the Tracked 24.

If a survey was done of who uses SDs, I bet that a very sizeable % will be using it purely for the trackability where they've not got the option of using Tracked open to them

Considering that SD is still RM's flag ship product it make sense that they are now allowing it to be delivered on a sunday just like tracked 24

Yes thats right the SD will be bagged and put with the gold spots for the area.

Also as i side note from what i have been told when trained is that only SD without a 9am or 1pm will be processed (so 9am / 1pm item will be processed on the sunday morning)

With the OT ban, it might leave the LAT hubs screwed for staffing, they might need all their staff now on non LAT work
