In the MC that feeds my DO if they are going to fail then all they do is send the post down to us without processing it further so that we fail instead of them.

This is the cleanest you'll ever see it. Brand spanking new. It's filthy and a dump now.

The Mail Centre moved from there to the north side of Filton Airfield in 1998, to a brand new purpose built building that is already too small, and er, crap. Lease runs out February 14th 2016.

Pubs are not really in walking distance, although there are three around Filton Roundabout. Handy to be driven too. I've known night shift acting WAM's do taxi-ing duties, when their staff have applied for pre-duty overtime and failed, as they did, in their OPG capacity.

Would make an ideal public terminal for the airfield, should it ever revert to that, or a handy hangar for AirBus across the way. The new AB owners are wanting to expand the wing production they do at their site, and Bristol mail Centre would be ideal.

Can someone call them to put in an offer to Rolls Royce Pensions, who are now our landlords? (RR live across the road from the centre, too :Very Happy )
"Ten years out of date" - and more !
It was from 1984 to 1992 that I visited Bristol quite regularly and on getting off the train at Temple Meads would go for a pint in the Cattle Market Tavern which was invariably full of Royal Mail employees.

Lies, damn lies & Leighton's "bullshit"
Our manager told us we came 20th (MC). In SK we had no outward. Get rid of the mail to somewhere else and you'll get a high placing.
Not really, we were told we came second last year! Last year we processed more, is that possibly because we had LA's and managers on "gardening" leave" from all over and more casuals. NO, we processed more mail thru the LSMs last year without this lot. By the way our last years savings bonus paid the strike breakers there O/T we weren't told and we still don't know how that came about.
We should stop being suprised by the managers propaganda and build the union so that it is what we want.

Yes duties are going here. We have shadows not managers. "C'mon, c'mon hurry up; why's the thing not running......" Push, push push. They are panicking because L/managers jobs are on the line too. They care about the figures because that relates to their jobs. We should recognize all goals set and achieved will be discounted next week and the goal posts moved (further uphill and closer together).

Hoperfully I'll see some of you next Saturday marching with our Burslem bros(& sisters).
Philip.

Support Karen Reissmann, mental health nurse sacked for speaking out. Its all about solidarity.
Line Manger's jobs would be on the line as RM want a streamlined TNT model of MC's /DC's etc , Leighton wants a 3 layer Walmart Management structure ,there's too much treacle , he may have backed off on appraisals , compulsory redundancies when Amicus /CMA balloted , but that was only to keep them onside for OIA /UIA . Leighton will want Team Leaders and only middle managers such as Mech Managers /Cluster DUM's . Nothing ever goes away with RM , it's merely on the back burner for future use .

The Manchester NHS Mental Health & Social Care Trust put Karen Reissmann on a added raft of preposterous charges

1. Speaking out against the suspension
2. telling everyone she was innocent
3. allowing the press to print misleading statements about her case

Original Charges were

1. damaging the Trust's reputation
2 undermining confidence in herself and misusing nursing time

Not unlike exclusion of colleagues /abuse of , encouraging staff not to co-operate with management , misuse of Union Position @ Burslem DO

There's a definite Union Bashing Agenda and it's not all from the RM Board / Human Resources /Senior Management, Higher than that ??

Most of RM's curious Investigation Techniques are illegal i.e. "witness coaching " , meetings with witnesses to discuss a case ,lurid allegations , failure to interview material witnesses when casting the RM net wider in investigation , relying on "selected" notes being written up aterwards , not informing of the True nature of alleged offences . They are purposefully vague , obscure and ambigious . There is a tendenancy towards leading questions to witnesses and everything to fit a pro-forma set of allegations that have obviously been used before .

Most go against the Fairness at Work Act -Illegal Detriment for bona fide Union Activities .

Any Magistrate , IT Panel Chairman , Barrister on NAP Panel would throw RM's case out especially if CWU Solictors cross examined how RM "constructed " their "case " for lack of evidence .
