if you are talking about glasgow then glasgow was in the process of being balloted for local action when a national ballot was announced

So why was Glasgow far slower off the mark than other Mail Centres / DO's ?

Is it because reps were too busy dragging their heels .. Too busy "bonding" with management .. Or colluding to fabricate some kind of viable "local issue" smokescreen .. all 3 most people think !!

If this was properly planned, justified, and executed .. we wouldn't be running 2 seperate parallel disputes. Or having, possibly, double the stoppage time, because of the timing of the national ballot.

bear in mind that some offices have never had action yet while others like london have had over 13/14 days of action

the gmc didnt get a local ballot until it was called for a meeting in march which was purely attended.and it wasnt the reps that called for a ballot but ordinary lay members of the union and another point is that once a ballot is asked for it is then down to the branch and hq to get the ball rolloing it is nothing to do with your local reps whoever they are

It is my opinion that "ordinary lay members" are the problem within GMC!. The whole unofficial action appeared to be down to one individual "lay member" shouting their mouth off without having access to the facts!

Im all in favour of striking to strengthen the stance of the union but only if the right people (elected reps) are involved! I have little enough faith in the management of the mail centre, never mind uninformed colleagues. If there continues to be further unofficial action then i fear support for the union will dwindle and I and the rest of my colleagues will suffer!

Also RJ is a clown! getting the better of him shouldnt be so difficult!

Yes .. well if the glasgow Reps got their head out the clouds and HAD a valid reason for action then they should have done it FAR QUICKER and got off the mark sooner, rather than leaving it to virtually the last minute before clashing with the national strike .. thereby, forcing it's members to run two seperate dispute so close together.

Sheer lunacy .. perhaps they should join the RJ circus with his fellow clowns, or suspended on full pay clowns as the case is !!

Listen guys the local ballot was going to be cancelled as it was to close to the ntional ,but i believe CWU HQ told our branch that all local ballots were to go ahead ....Dont know about anybody else that was at he Royal Concert Hall on that monday but i for one was fed up listening about the "NATIONAL BALLOT" as that was not the reason we were on strike but the return to work agreement that we were given also what about that "TOP TABLE" !!!!, Where was our branch chair anyway ???
