Norbet, I think what Tman is searching for is why you have mentioned Romec when he, as an Engineer, is employed by Royal Mail and thus has nothing to do with Romec.

that was the WHOLE RM scenario it wasn't in answer to any question , it would explain attitudes in RM full stop , we're used to Romec Staff as engineers and cleaners , hence the conclusions drawn,( the cwu use that division too ) but as Belal said overendowned in the smug self satisfaction dept and lacking "people skills" , there's always PMC if this is too rough and ready andpostal_jedi wrote:Norbet, I think what Tman is searching for is why you have mentioned Romec when he, as an Engineer, is employed by Royal Mail and thus has nothing to do with Romec.

I don't believe I've ever disagreed with you postal jedi, in fact I wholeheartedly agree with you. I think all I've done is try to point out instances where you yourself have been presumptuous about the role of the IMP operator, for example not culling from the hopper.postal_jedi wrote:As for accepting my apology I'm afraid it is put on hold, Flashman. It only stands if you are agreeing with me. Wether or not I decide to reinstate it, largely depends on your reasoning as to why you think your reading recommendation would be of interest to me.If not I apologise, I don't often have anyone agreeing with me.
It is with great sadness that you have retracted your apology solely on the grounds that you believe I am not agreeing with you, and have now set down conditions in which I must adhere to before your apology is once again offered. I really had you down as a bigger man this, obviously perceptions can be deceiving.

Ah Tommo, I was hoping you'd come back for another go.
Remember your hissy fit over "all operators must be TPM trained" and all that jazz?
Funnily enough, my MC today started over 50 casuals.
"Bit early for Xmas casuals, innit?" the regular staff asked.
"Insurance" was the reply "in case you lot go on strike in the lead in, and if you don't, we still have them here for Xmas pressure and beyond".
Funny thing is, they were running the machines today after receiving all the training they were going to get, and according to the latest training brief dated August 07 and available on the Intranet, all they were required to be told was how to start and stop it, and position of the E stops (sorry Belial, tech term again).
So much for TPM training, and looks like RM has a contingency plan should we go on strike again.
Now i havent heard any thing to differ the rules on H&S and MECH handling since i last took or had any re training on a LSM... Last Aug....
So if the TPM isnt needed now...??????? YOU GET ME THE OFFICAL STATEMENT FROM RM AND THE CWU SAYING THAT TPM ISNT NEEDED TO RUN/WORK ON or TOUCH A IMP/LSM/MTT/CFC.
Then and only then i will take note of your HEARSAY.....
So run along Miss Hissyfit...
ON YA BIKE YOU GOSSIP MONGERING TURD....

Don't be ridiculous. Apart from the basic fact that TPM was never a requisite of working on the Mech, and apart from the fact that that there's probably many more MCs around the country who are also employing casuals/agency staff who've had minimal/no training, why should RM or CWU give me an official statement of something that's patently obviously happening, just to please some ignoramus in East London? So if the TPM isnt needed now...??????? YOU GET ME THE OFFICAL STATEMENT FROM RM AND THE CWU SAYING THAT TPM ISNT NEEDED TO RUN/WORK ON or TOUCH A IMP/LSM/MTT/CFC.

Now I thought one of the moderators said just recently that that type of attitude and language wasn't welcome, partly because it's juvenile and boring, but mainly because it shows RM staff in a bad light? So run along Miss Hissyfit...
ON YA BIKE YOU GOSSIP MONGERING TURD....
Do you really appreciate how truly sad it is to put that level of dialogue on a web-site? No, I suppose not...........

Re: Intergrated Mail Processor Operators!
Norbet, and your point is. Why answer a question no one has asked. I know! It's because no matter what thread you're posting in you have tell us the same thing. No matter what the topic. This topic has nothing to do with Romec, cleaners, the CWU, people skills etc..... I'm still without an answer to the thread starter!dvbuk55 wrote:that was the WHOLE RM scenario it wasn't in answer to any question , it would explain attitudes in RM full stop , we're used to Romec Staff as engineers and cleaners , hence the conclusions drawn,( the cwu use that division too ) but as Belal said overendowned in the smug self satisfaction dept and lacking "people skills" , there's always PMC if this is too rough and ready
No! I won't enlighten you, bvbuk55. It has no relevance or bearing on this topic. Oh! and please feel free to go back to the original post anytime. Flashman, I've always known you agree with me wholeheartedly. So far as presumptions go I've made none, and you've pointed out none specific to my comments. I have never suggested culling from the actual hopper.Flashman wrote:I don't believe I've ever disagreed with you postal jedi, in fact I wholeheartedly agree with you. The tipping end, I believe consists of more than just the hopper.postal_jedi wrote:Or perhaps they could cull the mail on the tipping end
From your posts the most I've been able to establish is an accusation of jealousy and a book recommendation. The only person to presume anything so far is you. You used a presumption to illustrate your disapproval of moon showing initiative. You clearly state you’re presuming in that very post.
Now you post a desperate attempt to get an apology restored. Adhere to the conditions and it's yours, Flashman. As, L Tommo, say's, "we all need incentives..." We can bicker as much as you like about who is the biggest man. In my opinion, it is the same as trying to wash over the issue by criticising the way someone has composed a post, isn't that right, Tman?Flashman wrote:I'm presuming without his managers knowledge,

You see PJ I think it does have a bearing! You hadn't tried to be a line manager and somehow, (and I don't know howpostal_jedi wrote:No! I won't enlighten you, dvbuk55. Re: Intergrated Mail Processor Operators!
No, I'm not nor have I ever been a manager in RM. As usual when someone on this forum, says something that you're not in agreement with, they are accused of being a manager or as you all so aptly put it a screw. Or maybe you want to call me a scab? What’s next dvbuk55, how far are you going to go with it? Incidentally, I am not a scab, I voted for IA and I have rejected the current pay offer. My reasons for rejecting the offer are, I want an above inflation pay rise, as was initially the whole basis for ballot for IA. Just so you don’t make that up too. The top and bottom of this is that no one can justify why any member of staff shouldn't use initiative, instead of doing nothing when work in their section has dried up. dvbuk55, your unnatural, and largely unjustified, contempt for RM management is hindering any kind of discussion. May I make some accusations, your contempt is largely down to the fact that you are bitter and jealous of management, because you haven’t got the confidence to be a manager yourself? Not nice is it? You yourself have differentiated between sections, by claiming you haven’t set foot in a MC you, after all, work for a living. Alan will love that one, DOs against MCs, fek Romec and processing, that’s the ultimate divide. I don’t particularly like managers but they are just doing a job. Fair enough there are some sh***s, but there are some postmen/women sh***s too (probably more). It seems to me that staff is more willing to accept a total disregard for H&S than just working whilst you are getting paid to. I am of the opinion that by having the attitude “it’s not my dutyâ€dvbuk55 wrote:You see PJ I think it does have a bearing! For someone who has moved from one discipline to another, only recently, and then criticise how they do things strikes me that you have an uber ego.

I was merely surmising a problem as you had intimated the transfer wasn't voluntary. Because it wasn't voluntary then perhaps your judgement is a little bit jaundiced. I have never called a manager a screw in any of my posts but I would say your are atypical of the "angry young man", critical and defensive.

Maybe for you, so let's try another tack then. You say it shouldn't happen, whereas I say (having been involved with TPM as our's was a so-called pilot office way back in 1992) that you've got it very wrong.RM or the CWU dont have to give you , me or anyone anything.... Go get The national agreements on work place practises The IA framework.... And this is an issue my dear TMAN
Be that as it may, it's happening now despite your protestations to the contrary. Are you blind?
No, I don't love him in the slightest.Love the The EAST END IGNORAMUS
Another one to add to "surgical bullies" and "manager Terrets"? I thought the management-speak of flagpoles and blue-sky thinking was bad enough, though now we have CWU members joining in.PS Mr G. RUGGLE would be proud of you sonny....
