I'm waiting to hear about my references now, nick. I initially applied on line on the 15th of September. Here's the chronology:

15 Sep 07: Applied on line and completed two tests. Took all day!
01 Oct. 07: Received email request to set an appointment on line to attend a document checking session
16 Oct. 07: Attended document checking session
17 Oct. 07: Received telephone call asking me to attend interview
19 Oct. 07: Attended interview
21 Oct. 07: Received phone call and email requesting me to complete more information on line

Still waiting.

If everything is in order, you should get a phone call asking you to attend a face-to-face interview, God willing.

Don't worry: the manager won't bite (you must wait for the dogs on your walk for that). :Very Happy

Imagenick32. They may just be completing the background check they have to do now. Hold tight they will call you, eventually.

They're all a bit grumpy in here, but they are very positive when it comes to encouraging us hopeful newbies, which is good: they've got soft hearts, really - they just bite a bit like jack russells on a council estate walk. Bless their blisters! :)

Congratulations - hope you settle in OK. The first few weeks are the most difficult, but if you get through those and learn the ropes you should be alright. Don't forget to see the CWU Rep and join the union. If the Rep is decent, he/she will give you any advice you need, and you can always come on here to get info.
