Hello All
Why royal mail do not offer a tracking option, not just sign for to there standard 1st and 2nd class services. A fully tracked service is standard with many companies like Yodeldiract, yodels collect+, My Hermes, UPS and City Links-Inpost. Why royal mail only offers it in special delivery, some international services and business customers with over 1000 parcels a year. Royal mail seems to be falling behind.

TBH the amount of packets we deliver is just a logistical nightmare, today I had 16 Tracked, 14 Specials and numerous Recordeds...........multiply that by 10s of thousands to let you know how many we actually deal with and that'll give you some sort of idea as to why it's a difficult thing to do.

tbqf I think RM will have to have tracking as standard (at least for all non-stamped mail) at some point, probably sooner rather then later, with the number of rival companies out there (who all offer tracking as standard on everything), at some point the lack of tracking will probably make a difference as to what contracts we get

Am I missing something or would it not be simple for them to stick on one of those RFID barcodes onto a parcel if the customer pays for that extra, maybe incorporate that into the recorded signed for sticker - then surely the item would just be registered by the existing over-door scanners as it enters/leaves each building?
Or maybe those scanners don't actually work very well, that sounds likely for RM!
