Overtime
Hi guy and girls, new to Royal Mail and really enjoying the job so far, just want a little clarification on how overtime works. I'm a temp 25hr week contract get 1.167 overtime pay, other full time people in the office get time and a half? Is this a full time privilege or old contract? I thought everyone would get the same rate!

Re: Overtime
Hi there, there is no higher rate of overtime, other than when a part timer works beyond their hours they get a bit extra each hour to make up for the equivalent Delivery Supplement they would have got. Once you've worked your full 39 hrs (and got the full supplement) your rate will be exactly the same as the full timers.
I think that if somebody has told you they're getting a higher rate they may just be on the wind-up.
Unless they mean that they book 1.5hrs for every OT hour they work. That used to happen a lot and apparently still does in some offices but it's against the rules nowadays.

Re: Overtime
If he is still a trialist or within the 1st 12 months of his contract then his pay will be less. IIRC it goes up at the 6 month and 1 year anniversaries.

Re: Overtime
Yes, sorry forgot about that. It's a 50p/hr increase after 6 months and another 50p/hr after 12 months. Still nowhere near time and a half tho.
