There has been a lot of talk about what currency Scotland would use should the yes vote win.
However there has been no mention of what if any it would impact on Royal Mail
Southern Island has it's own postal service (different pricing and stamps etc.
Should Scotland go it alone would they have to set up their own postal service ?
We all know that most of Scotland is remote and can only survive by being subsidised
Royal Mail will therefore be better off on its own as it will no longer have to deliver daily to these area's

Scotland has 8% of the UK population.
Scotland has 32% of the UK land area.
So Scotland has just a quarter of the UK population density.
So Royal Mail has to deliver up to four times further in Scotland - and currently for the same 'universal' price.
So after the "yes" vote surely Royal Mail, which is based in London, will look towards ditching their Scottish operations to make their English, Welsh and Northern Irish operations more sustainable and satisfy their shareholders, only a small proportion of which reside north of the border.
