I've just been offered a job subject to pre employment checks being done. Can anyone tell me what this means please? I have been told that this can can take roughly 3 weeks but not to hand in my notice to my current employer until these checks are completed. I have to give 4 weeks notice. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: What are the pre employment checks??
Hi
Congratulations on getting through to this stage
Basically what happens now is they will do a CRB check on you which should take no longer then 14 days mine passed within 10 days and got updated to security passed instead of processing security checks. Im still waiting to hear now as it will be 2 weeks on monday I'm so excited and can't wait to start working for Royal Mail. The checks will make sure you have no convictions and cautions that will be on you record I think most companies do this procedure now that deal with security of the public. Hope this helps keep me posted how it goes I know its a long wait but be well worth it when you become a Royal Mail employee:)
