MY INTRODUCTION

Hello Everyone

I'm new to this and welcome the web site. I'm a postie who has worked for Royal Mail for 5 1/2 years. I came from an office background and welcomed the change but I enjoy the job less now than I did! A mere pup compared to some but boy how things have changed in this short time. I work at Calderway in Dewsbury and notice how morale is at an all time low. Lets see how we can change things. I believe we should all stick together and am strongly in favour of the strike and am happy to make sacrifices regards loss of pay in order to try make Royal Mail listen. What disappoints me more than anything is that there is a real lack of service now and emphasis is on making money which I favour BUT.... With the implentation of later starts and later delivery times (especially for businesses) I can only see this as detrimental to the business. Since the single delivery system, things have begun to fail miserably. I do however, think for us individuals a later start will enable a better quality of living. I think if we can provide a good service then money WILL me made anyway but being on the receiving end of customers is hard sometimes and we are in the frontline for complaints. Overall though, I have to say that my customers are REALLY supportive and that is GREAT news. LETS STICK TOGETHER....
