Hours of Work

Hi there. Not a postman, but seriously considering it. I've seen jobs advertised stating working hours like 6.30am - 2.15pm 5 days a week, but then in brackets 20 Hours. Does this mean that there are only 4 hours of work a day available between these times? Its confusing, as I would be wanting to work between 6 - 8 hours a day to keep up with my current lifestyle. Any advices would be appreciated, thanks.

We don't really know but most contracts are for 20 hours, maybe there's overtime, maybe there's not, it's like asking how long is a piece of string.

If you already have a full time job then I would stay with it and not bother with being a postie.

Be patient. 12.19pm to 4.51pm on a Sunday is when most of us are trying to spend our hard earned wages down the pub.
As for "jobs advertised stating working hours like 6.30am - 2.15pm 5 days a week" most are more specific about the hours.
If in doubt apply and you can always back down if it doesn't suit your 'lifestyle'.

You're right, I'll go through the process and try and find out what's what. The interviewer won't know though will he? Or will he have the details? Either way, I can afford to be patient. Thanks.
