I really don't know what to expect other than that I will have deadlines to meet and will cycle all around the place which seems fun to me. What have you heard? The uniform not bad either, 70% black. Any other forums I can visit to find more TNT related topics from their own employees perhaps, google isn't helping me. My employment agency painted them in a good light but of course she might have a set of ulterior motives I'm not aware of just to get me to accept.

What is it like as a TNT postal worker?
Signed a contract as a flexible employee which lasts for 2 months with a good chance of extending it, taking me on a perm basis. Training will start 2 weeks before my starting date in april, PAID!

Perhaps you as you have written, should look for TNT forums. But as a insight, I've driven hgvs for TNT through a agency and they rank in my view one of the worst firms to drive/ work for. I've driven for some very big firms and going by this( I know not brilliant but it's a comparison ) TNT are only interested in the work being done. Sod you or your health. Even though I was agency I'm abided by eu rules but TNT didn't really seem to care. I ended up refusing to drive for them. Now uk mail are the polar opposite of TNT.

Re: What is it like as a TNT postal worker?
I actually have been looking for a few days. I can only find customer reviews which doesn't tell me much about what goes on behind the scenes . So don't make out like I'm some lazy chick trying to mug anyone of their time but simply asking for some links that they might of come across that I could use. If you don't have something useful to say don't say jack.sidewinder wrote:Perhaps you as you have written, should look for TNT forums.
Over time section in my contract states I'm not obligated to accept any more hours than the scheduled ones for the week unless I accept which then counts as me volunteering. Surely you as you've written to me between the lines, should of used your own initiative and fully read and used your contract in your defence and refused. Nevertheless, thanks for your input.sidewinder wrote:I've driven hgvs for TNT through a agency and they rank in my view one of the worst firms to drive/ work for. Have you read the book 'how to win friends & influence people'? Perhaps the reason you can't find any forums for TNT staff is because the turnover is so high. You asked a question and someone responded, just because it was'nt what you wanted to hear there was no need for your attitude. This forum as titled is royal mail chat, not TNT!

If this is an example of the muppets TNT are employing I don't think Royal Mail have anything to worry about. I mean coming onto ROYAL MAIL chat and asking for advice on working for TNT? and then moan when people do reply to her. know I'm going to go on the Sky website and ask about virgin media.

I cant believe you have mugged me of my time by getting me to read the first post, then your rude reply and then getting me annoyed enough to respond about you mugging me of my time, which in itself is an action of time mugging!

Moved into Introduce Yourself forum as we don't have a Competitors Employees Forum and it was not appropriate for Blue Shirts. However, If I can make a gentle point, perhaps being a bit more friendly in your replies is a better approach than saying "If you don't have something useful to say don't say jack." Apart from not being in the spirit of RMC its hardly likely to get posters on your side, as evidenced by the replies

Re: What is it like as a TNT postal worker?
He/she was being rude and I don't think there was a need for it. If doesn't have anything better to say he/she can shut up. Yes this forum is for royal mail employees and customers, I just figured someone might of thought of checking out their companies competitors in hope of a better company to work for (given all the complaining that goes on here, there is a big chance someone did)and switch sides and have found a little more than I have. Not into rolling with the punches as they say and I'll hand them back in buckets too. If you want to call that having an 'Attitude' and not owning a copy of the 'how to win friends & influence people'?' That's clearly published by RM cough lol then so be it.Stormproof wrote:Have you read the book 'how to win friends & influence people'? Pitied, I sure hope this job turns out of better standards than the equivalent job at RM, just so I can come here and rub it in your face. :vcfoTman wrote:TNT employees are to be pitied rather than pilloried, so best give her a break....
Given that you can't grasp what my main aim was for registering and asking a few question about a similar company that provides the same,I hope a better service to it's employees and the public, then I'm afraid the muppet here is standing in your own shoes.madmartin wrote:If this is an example of the muppets TNT are employing I don't think Royal Mail have anything to worry about. Guess it is a new addition which I already love. They'll be bright orange ones and was told mainly to be used to travel to and from where ever this Centre is. They're currently in a process of recruiting over 400 people in and around central london, check them out if you are located nearby or willing to travel a little further to get to work.Cyclemech wrote:TNT using cycles? Reason: edited the names quoted - you had stormproof saying everything when in fact they old said one thing. It helps when yuo quote that you get the author right.

Well, maybe you are right, but this silent rule of being polite and what not should apply to all and not just certain persons. I was not provoking anyone or the others with my first post and was in my eyes pretty friendly so why should I have to put up with his or her reply to begin with.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: However, If I can make a gentle point, perhaps being a bit more friendly in your replies is a better approach than saying "If you don't have something useful to say don't say jack." Your first post was fine. Its your second post that has the caused the porblem .
Rude, you either have a low threshold for rudeness or you saw something that no one else did.menca wrote:

Seems like a valid suggestion to me, perhaps you read more into it than was meant. Your reply was rude IMHO as its not polite to tell someone to shut up is it.Sidewinder wrote: Perhaps you as you have written, should look for TNT forums

Valid if I was a bum and haven't tried to do my homework to start with. What is wrong with asking for directions online from people who have been working in this industry for longer than I have? Heck I haven't even started my first day. I'm sure people, sales assistants, for example, at Tesco will check out their options when it comes to finding a better working environment or better benefits with other food retail companies such as Aldi/Lidl/Asda/Sainsburies/Pound land etc if they're not happy with their package. They don't have to be employed by them to find out. I'm allowed to be offended if I want and I'm allowed to tell the source to shut up if I wish just as he or she was free to post a reply starting with what it did.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Seems like a valid suggestion to me, perhaps you read more into it than was meant.
