two man van

I,m a postman in the Manchester area,4 weeks ago the two man van went live,so far Ive booked approx 1 hour overtime everyday,no matter what we try the two walks take between 4.10 and 5 hours to complete,and we're not alone,everyone in our section books everyday, has this system worked anywhere?

It's worked in a couple of London office but they made sure all the values used where correct

Still isin't working in my office after over 3 years though but then we're not in London so that might give you a clue as to why

This is week 7 of the change for us and its still not working,in fact we are booking more overtime as the weeks go on,I prep a another walk as well as my own and I havnt got time to complete both and Ive been getting pressure from line managers to do more and Ive been prep tested,I cant do what they what in the time Ive got,I work a 9 hour day, sometimes 9 and ahalf hour then I go home and look after 8 year old and a 4 year old on my own,and I find it hard going,I dont want to work overtime and the CWU are useless,if I leave in mail I will be a marked man,I know RM management will read these posts but can anyone give me any advice?

I know it's hard but you've just got to work to your time, you either leave mail behind or you bring mail back but you don't do OT, it gets easier as time goes on.

Wait till you adopt the "leave with a neighbour" policy. As the delivery walks are calculated to run for 4 hours, where does the extra time come from? I asked for my walk to be reduced but the management said NO. Funny that.
Most people know that management can't admit that they have got it wrong. Their all singing and dancing software that runs on the same premise that gets truckers driving down dead ends and motorists driving down railway lines and rivers cannot possibly get the walks measurements wrong.

That give the parcel is thumbs down from me i'm afraid,although some neibours accept no problem,while you do ge4t the awckward ones,that i'm sure waits you put the card into the destined adress letterbox to tell them that parcel is next door,only for the neihbour to say "oh i forgot i'm away for aq couple of days so here take it back and sdhut the door again

Also i should mention that i prefer to put the card in straight away instead of following day as to let the neighbour whos' holding the packet know that i and his or her intended destination of the packet know that they have the packet.
Still convinced that more complaints will occur on this sheme,as all it takes for some untrusty neighbour to say " recieved no packet and its his word against mine" thats my view anyway

how did you get p and l in 2009 its in the bt2010 agreement?

i wouldnt put a card in for a driver tell them to shove it and put the card in themselves
