newish postie ...

Post by MartynAshbourne »

Hi ... I started working as a part time postman just over a year ago - contracted for 23 hours on rolling 3 month contracts . I have been looking forward to the new revision for a while now as there was considerable speculation in my office ( Ashbourne ) as to how many jobs may have been lost and how us part timers may fare - especially as I am one of only two non drivers in the office ....
I suspect that I am very fortunate to work in my particular office as I have found my time there very fullfilling and happy ... there's reasonable management , adequate training , overtime available and a good crew to work with . Due to the revision starting on Monday next ,no jobs have been lost in Ashbourne , I am being made permanent , with an increase in my working hours , a re-pick , and a feeling of job secutiy at last. Sorry to rub it in but I'm having a Great time :Very Happy
